My journey as a student at History Shivaji College, was crucial in transforming me from a shy girl into a confident individual.The first two years of college passed by with hectic round the clock lectures, interspersed with seminars and creative activities. In the third year, the college switched over to the virtual mode, but there was not a monotonous moment. The teachers made it lively and interactive by organising virtual tours of historical sites and Museums. We explored and enjoyed the various facets of history through webinars, film screenings and reviews as we had done in real classroom interactions. Participation and organization of online competitions on themes related to the discipline, helped me cope with isolation caused by social distancing during the pandemic. The History Department helped me to develop critical thinking and learn innovative ways to delve into the past and to comprehend the ways it shapes the present. The Debating society and the History Society gave me opportunity to enhance my public speaking and leadership qualities. Photography and filmmaking society furnished ample opportunities to hone my creative skills.

My experience with Shivaji College in general, and the history department of the College in particular has left an indelible imprint on my personality. The faculty works tirelessly day in and day out to quench our thirst for knowledge and refine our understanding. In the process they teach us to be keen scholars and motive us to be responsible citizens. The pedagogical, theoretical and practical knowledge of history as a discipline I gained from being a part of such a prestigious department cannot be replicated, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We, the batch of 2020-2023 started our college journey in an online setup during peak Covid-19, where everything was shifted to online mode, from classes to society auditions to internship interviews...everything was either on Zoom or Google Meet or MS Teams. I remember the first day as a Business Economics student, I was so hesitant to even open my camera and mic for an introduction. Never in my wildest dreams, I could have thought that one day, three years down the line, I will achieve the Gold medal for the Student of the Year title from this college.

All those online classes, all those society hardships, all those fest memories, all those ratta-fication till the last hour before our semester exams...it went by fast just like every adult ever told us.

I received a scholarship to study BBE at Shivaji College as international student from Botswana. Initially, we began our college life on on-line mode, but as college opened on the off-line mode, I explored more of India, learned about its culture, food, music, and a bit of Hindi. The coursework was rigorous, and studying in a foreign country where they occasionally use their native language can be a challenge. Still, I stayed on top of my studies and gained immense experience in business economics while interacting with diverse bright minds from different backgrounds. Campus life was amazing, and I felt connected to my new community through college festivals, making friends, and getting involved in campus activities.

"I am Prabhat Kumar, a proud graduate of Shivaji College from the class of 2017, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Presently I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bengaluru. Taking research as a career is unconventional but again I would say that the roots of the motivation can be traced back to the Innovation Projects that I pursued at Shivaji. Well, the two projects at the top of my mind are SHC-206 and SHC-309 - the year-long projects on real-life problems. Their interdepartmental nature promoted teamwork and fostered appreciation for complementary skills and the methodology of other courses.

After passing out from Shivaji College, I joined IIIT Delhi, where I pursued master’s in computer science with specialization in data engineering. Furthering my interest in Artificial Intelligence. I completed my dissertation on Deepfake detection.

Apart from academics, the free-flowing life and the carefree nature of people is one essential aspect that I have inherited from my alma mater. It has helped me develop a positive outlook on life events in general and academics in particular.

I joined Shivaji College in 2013. My four years were fun filled and a learning experience. I was awarded the Student of the year award in 2016.

I got the opportunity to represent my college in different technical events like Sankalanorganized by DUCS and Technohelia by JNU. I was vice president of Websters and also organized the Code Cracker event every year from 2015-2017. College also provided me with the opportunity to develop a Feedback Portal, to collect and analyze student responses regarding college infrastructure and staff. College Placement Cell, provided me with the opportunity for two months Internship at Hannover-Re in 2015 and 2016.

My professors were quite amazing. We used to have interactive sessions with our teachers. I have a close bond with my professors, as they were always there to guide me towards my carrier path. They played a crucial role in helping me to decide what to do next. They motivated me for GATE, which later helped me getting admission in IIIT Delhi M.TechProgramme.I am in continuous touch with my professors, and still seek their guidance whenever I need.

After college, I joined AXA France Vie - India Reinsurance Branch as a Software Developer from July 2017 till May 2019. I have joined IIIT Delhi from July 2019 for postgraduation. I did four months research internship at NII, Tokyo from February 2020-May 2020.

My three years in College were like a roller coaster ride.When I first came to college I was lost,couldn’t find my way to classes but now after 3 years I know every nook and corner of the college like the back of my hand.I have beautiful memories from my college life from bunking classes to hanging out at C-point, having cake fights on birthdays, jam sessions in college fest, from running pole to pole during fests and so much more that I can’t describe.

Shivaji College has been one of the best decision of my life. The college helped me rediscover my abilities and helped build my confidence. At every step I learnt something new about my personality. The society, clubs, events, competitions- I participated in almost everything that happened in college and with the help of my teachers was able to balance it with my academic responsibilities.

I pursued B A(H) Business Economics from Shivaji College. I was one of the founding members of TEDxShivajiCollege and was a part of numerous other societies. Shivaji college was where my journey with literature began. I'm pursuing Masters in English and a diploma course in German language rn. I graduated only 2 years back but it doesn't feel the same. Looking back now, I badly miss all those lectures I attended and even the ones that I didn't. Actually, I haven't achieved much already but I couldn't miss the chance of writing a testimonial for my college for it has given me way too many memories to cherish. It was my immense luck and fortune that I got to be a part of this College. It really helped me grow as a person. The entire faculty of English department left no stone unturned in shaping our future. At times, It made me realise that life's not an Agatha Christie novel. It's a lot messier. Here in this very college, I learned the true importance of knowledge and not just that, this place gave me a glimpse of what real life is. In short, I learned to be responsible, towards my decisions that I was to make going forward.

Here, I witnessed the real transition that happened with me when I became a serious economics honours student from a vagabond that I was when I first entered the gates. The credit goes to the faculty for they refine you and help you visualise and realise your worth and capabilities. Being in college, one thinks they are free to explore and are out of the stringent system that kept them grounded for good 12 years but trust me, college is so much more than just freedom.

It is the beginning of the rest of your life as here, you have to choose what’s best for you. The professors here, they not only guide you to make sensible choices but also let you explore and find your true calling.

I can not be more grateful to them for giving me the best years of my life that I cherish every time I think about them. In short, this institution and everyone who is a part of it, will help you to groom yourself academically and thus will help you refine your personality in many ways.

Nostalgia washes over me whenever I think or even hear of Shivaji College as all the vivid memories of college-life come alive. Being a part of the Economics Department was one of the best things to happen in my life, both on the personal and professional front, as it inculcated many intra and interpersonal skills in me. The department believes that books are not the only way of learning and ensures that students get exposure to the practical aspect of the field too. One of my favourite parts was the lecture series organized by our department where eminent speakers in the field of Economics were invited to talk about contemporary and relevant issues.

The faculty was extremely encouraging and a constant support throughout and even after college. My experience of being the Public Relations Head of Epitome, the Economics Society, was tremendous. It became an opportunity to hone my skills, be it work ethics or enhancing my leadership qualities. The faculty, the classes and my memories there have made a deep-seated impact on my life and perspectives.

The college always ensured an eclectic blend of extra-curricular and academic activities. The various cells and clubs hosted many events in a fun and interesting manner yet remaining informative for students. I am happy to see new cells, societies and clubs cropping up now. It is an honour to have been a part of this college

My three years at Shivaji college have been a wonderful experience of learning and prolific exposure to many opportunities in real world. It gave me an opportunity to meet different kinds of people and learned some great life lessons as well. The constant support and motivation of faculty members of Economics department has helped me to become a better version of myself. Regular classes provided a consistent learning and assessment of my academic performance. And because of that I was able to score the highest grades in my batch. Apart from academics, being a part of various societies helped me understand teamwork, leadership and effective communication. I had a great experience being part of this university. The great panel of faculty members were always there to help, guide and support us not only in studies but in our careers and life in general. All they wanted was us to be better humans and shine in our careers. No matter where I am, I will always be a proud Shivajian.

The whole aura of the Shivaji College has been very positive and productive throughout, as it provides you with the umpteen number of opportunities, to organize and participate in International Conferences, DBT sponsored training, cultural fest, department fests and much more, which helps one in gaining experience and knowledge. My journey here, has been great. I was a part of the editorial board of our Department’s yearly magazine for 2 years, participated in poster presentations and many other competitions, which boosted my confidence and helped me in brushing up my IQ, EQ and AQ skills. Since, biochemistry as a subject required both attention and focus, I was able to juggle between both the academics and extra-curricular activities, only with the support and guidance of my teachers. I will cherish all the memories of the college, the friends, the teachers, everything. I am grateful to the college as it has added up more of a character and value to my personality and made me a better person today.

Shivaji College has been a blessing for me. Since the very first day, I was given the space and support to take part in extra-curricular activities via societies, where I chose to harness debating skills; co-curricular activities, taken care of by the Executive Council of Department of Botany, where I organized and attended workshops, seminars, student competitions, etc., and most importantly, quality education provided by the teachers and the laboratory staff. The teachers encourage students to learn beyond classrooms, they even help them find internships and scholarships. Hence, the student-teacher interaction here is unique, leading to a scientific environment, eventually cultivating healthy aptitude and character. I, have lived many unforgettable day's from FEST to PROTEST. The College bestowed me beautiful lessons for life and the teachers are Bellwether of companionship they always reckon in me even when the most devastating year 2020 are in the blew and every planning has ended as a debacle they support me and I emerge out victorious, they always motivate me to think rationally & always make coherent strategy, all the teachers are good Samaritan, convivial, Assiduous and motivators,always cheerful in hail - fellow - well - met sort of way. My experience at Shivaji College for the past three years is nothing but amazing. I spent the majority of my time on the college premises attending lectures, performing practicals, referring books in the library, café, etc securing over 95% in attendance. I particularly enjoyed the practical sessions where actual interactions occur and the students as well as the teachers spent time discussing the chemical experiments. As a northeasterner, I could not understand Hindi well. So, my teachers would explain in Hindi as well as in English so that I could understand. The atmosphere was always peaceful and calm. I could access all the information I require, online through the college website. I made a lot of friends from different parts of the country and learn about new cultures. My classmates are smart, bright, and always helpful. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Shivaji College and my department and wish that they continue to bear the fruits of their endeavors.

After hopping and jumping for 2 months on the basis of cut off list I landed into this prestigious college which goes by the name Shivaji College and the best 3 years of my life started with amazing and had learned teachers, lovely friends and not to forget the canteen and the ground where I played innumerable cricket matches, football matches and the College Fest . The college had adorned me with Mr fresher title and made me President of commerce society of the college . In summary, my time in college has enriched my life in many ways. It has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my skills more, taught me valuable knowledge about this diverse world and people and concepts in general and eventually will enable me to hopefully become more successful in life when I finally graduate and get my degree. All these aspects of college have also made me more well-rounded as a person.

I started my journey at Shivaji College, having heard a lot about the college before I even joined. But the moment I entered the campus, it was clear to me that the college was so much different from what I heard. I can absolutely attest to the fact that the college provides the most supportive and conducive environment to its students. It never felt like the administration or teachers are too far away from the students. Apart from academics, the college allows maximum space to all students to grow in whatever field they wish to enter and this can be seen in the thriving cultural societies functioning in the college and the institutional support they all receive.

Being a student and part of Shivaji College I have so much to share with You Shivaji College is a great example of fusion of academic and extracurricular activities academically you will found some great Professor on the other hand college also promote cultural societies which help you to develop your individual personality I Am a visually impaired student and one thing I can tell you that you will never face discrimination in the college premises this is the most important thing because separation from other is not good in this age so Thanks to the Shivaji college and it’s member to provide equal opportunity to all .

My undergraduate education at Shivaji College in B.A (Hons) History provided me a highly efficient platform of exposure to the outside world. It is one of the best colleges of the University of Delhi to study History and all the teachers are enormously dedicated, make a lot of effort towards both pedagogy and mentoring and always strive for our success.

Apart from academics, Shivaji College nurtures young talents through its multifarious societies. I was fortunate to be a part of the NCC of Shivaji College and it helped me evolve as a disciplined person and imbued me with leadership qualities.
