Seminar-cum-Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights
The Alumni Relations Committee, in collaboration with the Shivaji College Alumni Association, organised a Seminar-cum-Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on 12th November 2025 at the Peshwa Bajirao Sabhagaar. The event aimed to introduce students to the growing importance of intellectual property in a knowledge-driven world and to celebrate the achievements of Shivaji College’s distinguished alumni who are contributing significantly in the field.
The programme featured three eminent alumni who served as the resource persons for the day:

The sessions included expert talks, an interactive workshop, and discussions on the practical relevance of IPR. The event strengthened alumni engagement while enriching students’ understanding of legal protections for innovation and creativity. The seminar also gave insights about the career prospects in Intellectual Property Rights and broader skills and knowledge domain required for the same. Students were also introduced about the patent filing procedure.





National Level Add-on Course on Technology for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals
The Alumni Relations Committee, in collaboration with the Department of Botany, conducted the National Level Add-on Course on “Technology for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals” from 11 July to 7 September 2025. This 30-hour certified programme aimed to provide learners with multidisciplinary exposure to functional food science, nutraceutical technologies, food safety, and innovative assessment methods. The Zoom platform for the online course was sponsored by Shivaji College Alumni Association. The resource persons were arranged by Shivaji College Alumni Association from the various Institutes of National Importance. The course content design guidance was also provided by the alumni of Shivaji College, University of Delhi.

This rigorous course, enriched by experts from IITs, NIT, national research institutes, universities and Shivaji College, equipped participants with strong conceptual and applied foundations in the field of functional foods and nutraceuticals. The course received huge participation across India & various colleges of University of Delhi. Out of 181 participants who applied,151 were selected of which 105 qualified after multiple assessments. The course enhanced the skill and exposure to the participants in recent research areas and entrepreneurship avenues in the food science and technology sector.

AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP OF Rs.1000/- to THIRTY STUDENTS FROM ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION
Events organized by Alumni Relations Committee 2024-25
The Alumni Relations Committee and Shivaji College Alumni Association organized the first Joint Alumni Meet on April 26, 2025. The alumni observed silent prayer in remembrance of the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Following it three distinguished alumni were felicitated for their exemplary achievements.

· Professor Ashok Chawla, Former Advisor, Japan, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, (Alumni-Department of Botany, Batch- 1974-77)
· Professor Virender Bhardwaj, Principal of Shivaji College, University of Delhi, (Alumni-Department of Hindi, Batch - 1985-88)
After the felicitations, the event culminated with vibrant cultural
performances presented by the students. The alumni meet saw a large
gathering of alumni from different batches and areas of expertise. Several
alumni volunteered to give their services towards the college development,
they cherished the memories, and renewed connections.





“Students Mentorship Program” was organized on 20 th February,2025. Dr. Subhash Mohan Agarwal, a distinguished alumnus from batch 1996-99, Biochemistry (H), currently working as Scientist F, ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research, interacted with students and gave insights about "Career Prospects and Research Opportunities for Undergraduate Science Students. Intra College poster making competition on the theme “The Great Strategist- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj” was also organised.


The inaugural podcast for session 24-25 in the "Know Your Alumni" series was recorded at the college studio with Honourable Principal Prof. Virender Bhardwaj. He expressed his vision about the college development and encouraged students to learn from the journey of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, develop love for the Nation & Parent Institute -The Alma Mater. He also remembers the teachings and values of his 'Guru' fondly. In the second episode the podcast with President, Shivaji College Alumni Association (SCAA), Sh. D.K. Sharma, Former IG, BSF was recorded on 20 th February,2025 (https://youtu.be/tK4KIFpvQ9Q), where he shared his journey serving in BSF and guided students who want to pursue a career in the armed forces. He also shared the idea and vision of Honourable Principal Prof. Virender Bhardwaj about the objectives of the Shivaji College Alumni Association.

The Alumni Relations Committee organized an Orientation cum Alumni Lecture Series on September 20th, 2024. The objective of the programme was to familiarize the students with our distinguished alumni and seek inspiration from their journey and connect back our distinguished alumnus with their Alma mater. The event was attended by approximately 150 students, who engaged with eminent alumni. The alumni who shared their wisdom were Sh. D.K. Sharma, Former IG BSF; Sh. Manmohan Sharma, Team Commander, National Security Guard and Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Deputy Director Finance, NIFM, Ministry of Finance. The Principal, also a notable alumnus Prof. Virender Bhardwaj and Vice Principal Prof. Tejbir Singh Rana too inspired the students with their engaging talk.




Retrospect: Mapping The Footprints
The "Retrospect: Mapping the Footprints"- the alumni lecture series convened esteemed alumni from diverse fields to share their professional experiences and insights with current students and fellow alumni. Held with the goal of inspiring, educating, and fostering connections within the college community, the series featured captivating presentations by accomplished individuals such as Mr. Pankaj Protim Bordoloi, Deputy Director, President House Museum, India ; Dr. Motilal Gupta ‘Aditya’, Former Deputy Director, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI; Advocate Raj Gaurav, Advocate, Supreme Court and High Court; Mr. Rohit Chawla, a renowned Percussionist and Mr. Raman Mehta, President, Uthan NGO . Through interactive discussions and networking opportunities, attendees gained valuable insights into various industries and developed meaningful connections, reaffirming the spirit of collaboration and achievement within the institution.



On April 30, 2023, Shivaji College proudly hosted an Alumni Meet, a vibrant gathering that celebrated the achievements of distinguished graduates and fostered new connections among attendees. This event served as a testament to the enduring spirit of our alumni community, where past students converged to honor their shared heritage, reminisce about cherished memories, and chart the course for future collaborations. Amidst the backdrop of camaraderie and nostalgia, the Alumni Meet not only recognized the remarkable accomplishments of our distinguished alumni but also provided a fertile ground for forging new connections, sharing insights, and nurturing relationships that transcend time and distance


The Student Mentorship Programme provides a platform designed to empower and guide students on their academic and professional journeys. This series aims to connect students with experienced mentors who share invaluable insights, practical advice, and personal anecdotes to inspire and support the next generation of leaders. Through engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, participants gain the opportunity to cultivate mentorship relationships, expand their knowledge, and chart a course for success in their chosen fields. The series has been graced by accomplished alumni, Mr. Anirudh Sharma, a final year PhD Student, Teesside University, UK and Ms. Nishtha Sethi, Investment Analyst and Founder, The Venture Folks.
