Society & Activities

The Zoology department society 'Oyster' has been very active in organising events over the year for keeping students involved in various extra and co-curricular activities. Competitions such as quiz and poster making have been highlights of these events as they have helped students think 'out of the box'. Seminars and lectures have been organized as well under the aegis of the society, where eminent speakers have enlightened the students and their interaction has inspired them to pursue careers in pure sciences.

Department of Zoology, Shivaji College, organised a webinar on Zoom platform on April 29, 2020 at 10.30 AM on the topic, “Biosafety measures and Biocontainment of pathogens in research.” The speaker for the event was Dr. Manpreet Kaur who is a Scientist (Biosafety and Biocontainment), Biosafety Support Unit of Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and Regional Centre for Biotechnology, India.
