Physics Society: INVENIO

The society of Physics Society INVENIO provides a platform for the students to explore new horizons beyond the academic curriculum and organise yearly workshops, annual festival, national conference, alumni meet, and educational trips to research and development institution of high repute. The society also conducts talks by eminent physicist and scientists from diverse fields to motivate young minds. The Department also conducts the immensely prestigious National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE), organised by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). This is a unique exam for highly meritorious physics students conducted by. The purpose of the Physics Department is to foster a spirit of learning and hence promote the welfare of the students by mentoring them both intellectually and morally.

Report of the Activities (Physics Department) 2018 - 19

Physics Department conducted the Annual National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE Exam) for Undergraduate Students organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers on 20th Jan 2019. Anmol Singh(Bsc(H) Physics IInd year), Piyush Dalal (Bsc(H) Physics IIIrd year) & Vinit Tyagi(Bsc(H) Mathematics) have received Centre Topper Certificate and Piyush Dalal from B.Sc(H) Physics III year received State Level Topper Certificate thereby bringing laurels to our college.

Moreover, 18 students along with 2 Faculty Members participated in the National Science Day Program at IUAC, Delhi on 28th Feb 2019. There the students got equipped with the Ongoing Research taking place in field of High Energy Physics with the experimental demonstration of interesting physics concepts for undergraduate students. Students and teachers also enjoyed a talk on 'Basic Physics and Quantum Mechanics' by Retd. Prof. Ajoy Ghatak.

The Department also organized its Annual Fest INVENIO on 14-15th March 2019. Dr. R. S. Saxena, Scientist F, DRDO was the invited speaker and he gave a talk on the topic, 'Development of IR Detectors for Defence Applications.' The talk was followed by a Stage Play on 'The Life of Sir Nicola Tesla' who invented AC. The play was beautifully enacted by our students. Thereafter, a debate competition named 'POLEMIC : The Clash of Intellects' was organized with the Motion 'All nations should share equal responsibility in sustainable development.' On the second day of Fest, the following competitive events were organized : 'DEMOCREATIVE BHAUTIKI : Expliquer La Phisique' in which the students were supposed to showcase their intellect on any self chosen topic of Physics, the development and applications in that field by means of Power Point or Black Board Presentation; the Rangoli Making Competition 'ALPANA- Colour Your Idea', the 'SKILL MELA : Create, Demonstrate, Elaborate' in which the students were required to demonstrate their creativity in Experimental Physics followed by presentation; and the Quiz Competition 'BLUE BOOK : Stack Up Your Genius.' Prizes worth Rs. 31,000 were given to the winners of these competitive events. The day ended with a band performance by our students followed by Valedictory Session to felicitate the winners.
