National Service Scheme (NSS)

The N.S.S. Unit at Shivaji College is one of the most prominent and active NSS units being run under the NSS Centre of the University of Delhi. It is driven by social consciousness among the students. It provides a platform to the students to connect themselves with the social realities and has provided students with opportunities to work for the well-being of the people and engage themselves in contributing towards the society. The NSS at Shivaji College has not only sensitized the student community but has also inculcated leadership skills in them and has developed their personality, teaching them how to reach out to people.
It has been an eventful and productive year for the NSS at Shivaji College. It organized a Slogan Writing Competition to mark the occasion of Children's Day on November 12, 2009. Cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of the competition. It also organized Cleanliness Drive within the college premises on February 18, 2010. 107 students volunteered to give a facelift to the college premises. A Donation Camp, set up in association with the NGO 'Goonj', received a very positive response. |
