National Cadet Corps (NCC)


The N.C.C. Unit at Shivaji College is a full-fledged community of motivated and trained youth that exhibits leadership qualities in the activities they had undertaken in the past. The Unit is driven by the aim of the NCC "To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country".
N.C.C. (Boy's Wing)
The Boys NCC Unit at Shivaji College is attached to the 2nd Delhi Battalion, ITI Pusa, New Delhi. In keeping with our past tradition we have excelled in the programmes and activities held at various levels. Some of our achievements are as follows:

Twenty four cadets of the college attended the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at Anarwala (Dehradun) from 21 May 2009 to 30 May 2009 under the command of S.U.O. Amarpal Singh. Five competitions out of seven were won by Shivaji College cadets.

S.U.O. Amarpal Singh was adjudged the Best Cadet of the camp. Shivaji College was declared the overall best college of the camp. J.U.O. Chanrakant Singh attended the North Zone NCC Shooting Coaching Capsule held in Chandigarh and qualified for the Pre-National Shooting Championship. S.U.O. Amarpal Singh was declared the best cadet at group level. S.U.O. Amarpal Singh and Cadet Bhaskar Mishra attended the prestigious Indian Military Academy Attachment Camp. Amarpal Singh also led the Delhi Directorate. Four cadets attended the Thal Sainik Camp held at Delhi. Four Cadets attended the final Parasailing Camp held at Parade Ground, Delhi. Four cadets were selected in the Slithering Camp held at Delhi Cant. Eighteen cadets attended the Army Attachment Camp held in Meerut.

Moreover, our cadets have been participating throughout the year in various social welfare programmes like blood donation camps, community education and environment awareness programmes in socially and economically backward areas.
N.C.C. (Girl's Wing)
The Girls' Wing of NCC at Shivaji College was established in 2004 and is attached to 7 Delhi Girls' Battalion, Kirti Nagar, Delhi. The girls' wing of the NCC was initiated in Shivaji College in the academic session 2004-05. Despite this, our college in the current academic session i.e. 2009-10 made a significant mark.

Some outstanding achievements are as follows: The most coveted and adventurous 'Special National Integration Camp' was held at Badli form 19 September 2009 to 28 September 2009 where ten cadets were selected from our College. Four cadets from our college were awarded Best Drill Shield in this camp. Another annual training camp was also held at Bharatpur (Rajasthan) from 3 November 209 to 14 November 2009 in which four cadets wee selected from all over Delhi. National Integration Camps were also held in Jaipur and Orissa where six cadets of our college were selected.
